DAY 4: Cape Canaveral and Cocoa
Beach
This was a pretty big day. We headed about 70 miles northeast to Cocoa Beach. Actually we went to the NASA Space Center at Cape Canaveral first. We started out just looking around the visitors center at NASA. Then we hopped on a bus and took a 3 hour tour of the rest of the facilities including the HUGE building where they put together the Shuttle. Then we headed over to the Observation Tower that was as close as we could get to the actual launch site. Then we went over to another huge building that housed one of the actual rockets. Our last stop was where they were putting together parts of the MIR Space Station.
After leaving NASA we went to Cocoa Beach and played in the ocean. It was a little misty out but it was still nice.
