Tiger Sharks Compete at Parsons Swim Meet

Fourteen Tiger Sharks made the 60-mile trip to Parsons, KS on June 24 to compete in the Parsons Taran Sack Memorial Invitational. Those swimmers are Griffin Leininger, Kip Roland, Jasmine Bello, Shelby Haskins, Hattie Gilkey, Jack Gilkey, Kenna Roland, Hannah Moyer, Jacob Haskins, Amber Carter, Andrew Fowler, Kailey Roland, Jordon Steever and Megan Thieman.

Like the Lamar Invitational in June this was also an A/B Meet. Which means that the swimmers are divided into the 2 groups based on their entry times.

“A” DIVISION RESULTS

In the 8 and under age group Kip Roland finished 1^st in the 100 yard individual medley and Griffin Leininger placed 3^rd in the 25 yard backstroke. Shelby Haskins finished 3^rd in the 100 yard individual medley and 4^th in the 25 yard butterfly.

Jack Gilkey representing the 10 and under boys finished 1^st in the 100 yard freestyle and 2^nd in the 50 yard backstroke.

Kenna Roland had a fantastic meet winning 3 events; the 50 yard freestyle, 50 yard backstroke and 100 yard freestyle. Hannah Moyer also had a strong showing placing 1^st in the 50 yard backstroke and 3^rd in the 50 yard breaststroke.

For the 11 and 12 year olds Amber Carter was awarded 1^st place for the 50 yard freestyle and Jacob Haskins finished 5^th in the 100 yard individual medley.

The 13 and 14 year old age group featured Andrew Fowler placing 1^st in the 50 yard backstroke, 2^nd in the 100 yard freestyle and 5^th in the 50 yard breaststroke. Kailey Roland helped the girls along with her 5^th place finish in the 50 yard backstroke.

For the 15-18 year olds Megan Thieman placed 6^th in the 50 yard butterfly.

The 10 and under women featuring Jasmine Bello, Kenna Roland, Shelby Haskins and Hannah Moyer placed 5^th in the 100 yard medley relay then went on to finish 1^st in the 100 yard freestyle relay.

“B” DIVISION RESULTS

Griffin Leininger, swimming for the 8 and under boys placed 4^th in the 25 yard butterfly and Kip Roland finished 1^st in the 25 yard breaststroke.

Jasmine Bello and Hattie Gilkey both received B times for the 8 and under girls. Jasmine placed 5^th in the 50 yard freestyle and Hattie finished 1^st in the 25 yard breaststroke.

For the 10 and under boys bracket Jack Gilkey had a 4^th place finish in the 100 yard individual medley. For the girls Hannah Moyer won 1^st place in the 100 yard freestyle.

In the 11-12 year old age group Jacob Haskins placed 5^th in the 50 yard breaststroke and Amber Carter finished 3^rd in the 50 yard butterfly.

Kailey Roland, swimming for the 13-14 year old girls placed 4^th in the 50 yard breaststroke.

Megan Thieman finished 1^st in the 50 yard breaststroke for the 15-18 year old girls bracket.

Once again the 10 and under age group came through in the relays. This time it was the boys. The team of Jack Gilkey, Griffin Leininger, Jordon Steever and Kip Roland finished 1^st in the 100 yard medley and 2^nd in the 100 yard freestyle.

The Tiger Sharks next meet is on June 28^th in Monett.
