Tiger Sharks Compete at MSA Invitational

 

 

Twenty-six Tiger Sharks competed with 9 other teams in the Missouri State Aquatics Invitational in Springfield on July 1st and 2nd.

 

Ribbons were given to the top 8 in each individual event and the top 3 in the relays.

 

The 6 and under boys featured Donte Stahl placing 9th in the 25 yard backstroke, Truman Kaderly finishing 13th in the 25 yard freestyle and Chase Kellenberger receiving a ribbon for his 8th place finish in the 25 yard backstroke.

 

Swimming for the 6 and under girls was Molly Kellenberger. She placed 1st in the 25 yard backstroke, 2nd in the 25 yard butterfly, 3rd in the 25 yard breaststroke and 4th in the 25 yard freestyle. Jacey Stahl came in 10th place in the 25 yard freestyle.

 

Kip Roland, swimming for the 8 year old boys placed 3rd in the 100 yard individual medley, 5th in the 25 yard breaststroke, 6th in both the 25 yard backstroke and 25 yard butterfly, 8th in the 25 yard freestyle and 8th in the 50 yard freestyle. Lincoln Kaderly received a ribbon for his 5th place finish in the 25 yard backstroke and one for 6th place in the 25 yard freestyle.

 

For the girls Jasmine Bello won 4 ribbons. She placed 8th in the 25 yard backstroke, 5th in the 25 yard butterfly, 7th in the 50 yard freestyle and 6th in the 25 yard breaststroke.  Shelby Haskins had another outstanding meet earning the team 44 points, not including the relays. She was victorious in both the 25 yard backstroke and 25 yard breaststroke, She had 2nd place finishes in both the 50 yard backstroke and 25 yard butterfly and she had two 3rd place finishes; one in the 25 yard freestyle and the other in the 100 yard individual medley.

 

The 10 and under age group featured Jordon Steever swimming to a 6th place finish in both the 50 yard freestyle and the 50 yard backstroke. He also placed 8th in the 50 yard butterfly.

 

Madison Kellenberger and Kenna Roland both received ribbons for 6 individual events and earned the team a total of 108 combined points. Madison had a 2nd place finish in the 50 yard backstroke and 3rd place finishes in both the 50 yard butterfly and 50 yard breaststroke. She also received 3 ribbons for her 5th place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard individual medley and the 100 yard freestyle.

 

Kenna placed 1st in 4 of her 6 individual events. They were the 50 yard freestyle, 50 yard backstroke, 100 yard individual medley and the 100 yard freestyle. She also placed 2nd in the 50 yard butterfly and 5th in the 50 yard breaststroke.

 

For the 11-12 year old girls Rose Compton received a ribbon for her 8th place finish in the 50 yard freestyle while Amber Carter placed 9th in the 50 yard backstroke. Brittany Steever had a great meet. She placed 2nd in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard individual medley and 100 yard freestyle. She also placed 3rd in both the 50 yard backstroke and 50 yard butterfly. And her 6th ribbon came from a 6th place finish in the 50 yard breaststroke.

 

Kailey Roland, swimming in the 13-14 year old group placed 11th in both the 50 yard freestyle and 50 yard backstroke. She also placed 12th in the 50 yard breaststroke.

 

The 8 and under relay team of Donte Stahl, Lincoln Kaderly, Kip Roland and Chase Kellenberger placed 5th in the 100 yard medley. The girls featured Grace Compton, Jessica White, Shelby Haskins and Jasmine Bello swimming to a 2nd place finish in the 100 yard medley.

 

The 10 and under team of Kip Roland, Donte Stahl, Chase Kellenberger and Jordon Steever placed 4th in the 100 yard freestyle. The relay team of Hannah Moyer, Madison Kellenberger, Shelby Haskins and Kenna Roland placed 4th in the 100 yard medley and 2nd in the 100 yard freestyle. The team of Margaret Kellenberger, Jasmine Bello, Jerica Stahl and Molly Kellenberger placed 8th in the 100 yard freestyle. And the team of Carmen Miller, Jerica Stahl, Jessica White and Molly Kellenberger finished 10th in the 100 yard medley.

 

Although these Tiger Sharks did not win a ribbon they still competed hard. Josie Kaderly swam in 3 events including an 11 second improvement in the 100 yard individual medley. Jacob Haskins competed in 6 events and Kimberly and Jennifer Marti both participated in 4 events each.
